New City Little League Ages & Divisions
The player’s league age is determined by Little League International. The dates for baseball and softball are different, but each determines the division in which your Little Leaguer will play each spring season.
If you are registering a player for the 2025 Baseball Spring season, the "league age" is the age of the child between September 1, 2024 and August 31, 2025 except as noted below in the age based divisions.
EXAMPLE: If the player turns eleven on August 15, 2025, the player is considered "league age" eleven, even though his/her chronological age is ten when the season is actually played.
If you are registering a player for the 2025 Softball Spring season, the "league age" is the age of the child between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024.
EXAMPLE: If the player turns seven on August 15, 2025, the player is considered "league age" six, as the age is based on the players chronological age from the prior calendar year of the season.
Exception for the Tee Ball and Baseball Age Based Divisions only:
To stay in line with the Clarkstown Central School District cutoff and to keep players grouped by school grade, the range to determine the league age is for players born between December 1 and November 30 of the year the spring season is being played.
Example: If you are registering for the 2017 spring season, the players birthday is anywhere between December 1, 2016 and November 30, 2017. If the player turns 7 during this date range, the player would play Baseball Rookies in the Spring 2017 season.
